Get Involved

by Tito Vazquez, ACS Area 51 Governor

By now you have already received multiple emails and announcements about our upcoming Spring Conference:

Tito Vazquez, ACS
Area 51 Governor
What you may not hear about are the great opportunities, you as a Toastmaster, can have.  Many will miss out if they only attend with the expectation of solely being an observer and not an active participant.  This years Spring Conference not only offers outstanding educational sessions, where you will gain indispensable knowledge and amazing insight, it also provides countless ways for you to grow and earn Educational credits towards your speech and leadership goals.  In addition, you will gain invaluable experience and exposure with your fellow Toastmasters and our distinguished guests.  Finally and perhaps most importantly, you will have an unprecedented opportunity to meet, socialize, and network with like-minded Toastmasters from all over District 84.

Some of the educational awards you may earn, just to list a few, are: High Performance Leadership; Successful Club Series; Leadership Excellence Series; Better Speaker Series; Success/Leadership Workshop; Success/Communication Workshop, not to mention your various speech manuals, and competent leadership manual.

In my short time in Toastmasters, I have had the honor of attending multiple conventions, as a attendee, contestant, speaker, and facilitator.  Each one served as a unique experience to learn and grow.  Each one provided opportunities to share and learn from my fellow Toastmasters.  Each one created special memories, which made me look forward to the next convention.  Take this opportunity to become an integral part of the Spring Conference.  Reach out to your club President, VPE, or Area Governor.  Inform them you wish to volunteer and I can guarantee, it will not only be greatly appreciated, your experience will reward you in ways which will stay with you forever.

I look forward to seeing you attend this years Spring Conference.  Come by and greet me, I'll be the one with the gold top hat!
"Toast of the Town, Broadway Bound" being held May 16-18 at the Lake Mary Westin.  No doubt, many upcoming club meetings and speech contest will have a "Broadway" theme.  You will hear about the great experiences past attendees had, and how you should not miss out on hearing the many great speeches and educational workshops, along with the general great time you will have.  Well guess what...they are 100% CORRECT!
